the couple

Liz is so sweet and organized and had several great ideas for photos that I'd never tried before! It was so fun getting to know her through the wedding planning process even though she was living overseas for the majority of the time. When I met her and Marty in Clarksville, TN, I had no idea that my husband and I would be moving to California...a few hours from where they met.

the details

So many decisions go into a wedding day. Capturing photos of everything from the rings and shoes to the flowers and cake is one of my favorite things about photographing weddings.

Getting ready

Liz and her family and bridesmaids got ready at a lovely Airbnb a few miles away while Marty and his groomsmen got ready at the church so he wouldn't see the bride before the ceremony.

Father's first look

Liz was speechless when her father gifted her with a lovely bracelet. They both became emotional as they shared this special moment.

The ceremony

On June 3, 2023, Elizabeth and Martin exchanged vows in the Immaculate Conception Historic Chapel with its high ceilings and stained glass.

the reception

The reception was located at The Bruce event center in Hopkinsville, KY where the couple did their first dance, cake cutting, and bouquet toss. Numerous family and friends who had traveled quite a distance gave a toast to the happy couple.

congratulations, marty + liz!

That silhouette photo was a last-minute idea from Liz. It reminds me of the image I used for the cover of the marriage book I wrote. I was amazed that before her wedding, she took the time to let me know she'd read and enjoyed it and had some of the same thoughts about marriage that I'd shared in it.

They also let me recreate the photo with the Scrabble letters from their engagement session, so you can compare those below. If you missed them, you can view their engagement photos here.
