how they met

I found out from the bride's aunt that the couple knew each other when they were much younger. He came over to play video games with her brother. On the day he was going to ask her out, her aunt walked in before he could get the words out. Years passed before they came together again.

the venue

They got married in this adorable chapel at Noccalula Falls Park in Alabama where the azaleas were in bloom. First it was cloudy, then it was rainy, then the sun started peeking through. Just before the ceremony began, we saw a full DOUBLE rainbow! It was amazing. We all stood there staring at it and taking pictures. We couldn't believe it!

Before the Ceremony

They didn't see each other beforehand, so we got pictures of them separately with their families and the wedding party.

Strangers stopped to congratulate the bride.

This groomsman was getting compliments on his mustache.

Then he told us he got this tattoo long before he had the real mustache.

The groom's parents asked me to get a few pictures of just them because they never dress up. Coulda fooled me! They looked so fabulous.

The Ceremony & Rings

The bride's cousin played the piano, and a friend was the officiant. They wrote their own vows, which they read to each other.

Before the bride's father walked her mother down the aisle, he said, "May I have this dance?" as he took her hand.

Before he started the vows, the bride made sure he was looking at her while he said them...and that he wasn't saying his vows to the guests.

Halfway through his vows, the groom looked at the guests and said, "This is really hard." As in, really hard to keep from crying while sharing about the depths of their love.

after the ceremony

The couple snuck away to take pictures together and with the wedding party before heading to the reception.

While taking these pictures, a guest walked by (I think someone said it was one of the groomsmen's mom) and said, "You look like a bunch of bums!"

I love these reactions!

With the bride's aunt who helped with decorations.

The reception

Mr. & Mrs. Scott join their waiting guests...

The groom's father made sure I got a picture of the brisket. I can see why! Everyone was talking about how delicious it was.

I took a picture of this gorgeous before I even knew that THE BRIDE'S MOTHER MADE IT!! So impressed.

Then I found out WHILE I was taking these pictures that this DELICIOUS carrot cake was made by the groom's lovely aunt!

They couldn't remember the name of the song they chose for their first dance...so they just danced to whatever was playing.

I always love seeing that the bride and groom actually have a chance to eat at their own wedding!

The groom with his uncle.

I also always try to get a few pictures of the youngest guests.

the details

Here are just a few more images of some of the decorations, scenery, and fashion that I just loved!

I LOVE this bracelet from the bride's Aunt Kristi
